Cuttings, removing. - In machines having electro-magnetic work-holders, the tool is subjected during its whole period of working to the action of an alternating demagnetizing- field to prevent cuttings from adhering to the tool. As shown, the milling-cutter F rotates between the poles C2 of a coil C1, through which an alternating or pulsating direct current flows. The magnet is attached by a clamp D to the machine, while the work A is held by a magnetic work-holder P.
