Abstract

20,577. Child, J. P. Sept. 11. Holders for doublecapped single - contact cylindrical lamps are provided with sliding or rotary cylindrical or partly cylindrical sleeves for enabling the lamps to be inserted in position. The holder has a rigid contact f, Fig. 1, on one side and a spring- plunger contact f<1> on the other, the rigid contact being in the form of a screw for securing the conductor in place. The cylindrical part f<2> of the holder is provided with a sliding sleeve f<3>, adapted to be moved back for enabling the lamp to be inserted and then forwards for retaining it in position, stops &c. limiting the movement of the sleeve. The holders are formed with brackets or bentover ends f<5>, held against the centre of the interior of a trough-shaped reflector by screws d. Fig. 4 shows a modification in which flanges g<1> on the casing g of a twin lamp holder are secured to the reflector by the screws d.
