Revolving - cylinder and reciprocating-piston type; engines with main shaft parallel to axis. of cylinder.- In an engine having revolving cylinders parallel to a central stationary shaft and driving through swash-plate mechanism, the diameter and inclination of the swash-plate are such that the piston-rods are inclined towards the cylinder axes. The invention is particularly described as applied to a four-strokecycle internal-combustion engine having its pistons secured to a ring 7 which rotates on an inclined disk 8 secured to a hollow shaft 1. The ring has a thrust-bearing 10 and forks 11 in which engage universal joints on the ends of the piston-rods. Rollers 13 which engage guides 14 on the engine casing 15 are carried by and restrain the movements of the ring 7.
