Abstract

Spindle apparatus.- Spindles for ring spinning-machines are formed with portions of their length reduced in diameter and provided with springs adapted to engage the bobbins by centrifugal force when the spindles are rotating. Fig. 1 shows a spindle 1 having the portion of its length above the wharl 2 reduced in diameter and provided with a tube 3, which is slit so as to furnish spring tongues 4. In a modification, a shorter portion of the spindle is reduced in diameter and a spring in the form of a helix provided. The tube 3 or the spring may be soldered or otherwise fastened to the spindle at its upper end.
