Indicating by temperature of superheated steam.-A water-level indicator operated by the temperature of the superheated steam from the boiler is shown in Fig. 19. The steam from a coil 35 passes over a heat-responsive element 59, such as a mercury bulb, connected by a fine bore tube with a device 61 having a pointer. When the water is low, the steam is correspondingly superheated and the pointer moves to indicate a low level. On the other hand, when the water is high, the steam is not superheated to the desired degree and the pointer moves in the opposite direction.
