Abstract

Mincing.-In mincmgmachines of the kind in which rotating knives 2 are arranged between the forcing-worm 1 and the perforated plate 4, this plate is fitted on the inside with a renewable sheet-steel disk 5 having stamped-out passages for the exit of the material. The ordinary plate 4 of cast iron has a beaded edge 6, within which the steel disk 5 is seated, relative movement being prevented by a projection 7 engaging a gap in the beaded edge. The plate 4 and disk 5 are adjusted by a screw ring 11, and are held against rotation by a lug 9 on the casing 10. A set of disks having perforations of various sizes may be used with each machine.
