Abstract

24,905. Short, E. M. Oct. 31. Embroidery.-An indicator for use with pattern books or cards for needle-work &c., for marking the line and place at which the user is working, comprises a flat strip a, Fig. 1, of celluloid or like material, which is provided with a sliding band b adapted to carry a pointer c, and with two other sliding bands c having spring clips on their underside to grip the edges of the pattern book or card. Abutments g may be provided at the ends of the strip to prevent detachment of the sliding bands. The sliding band b is formed on its underside with slots which hold the pointer c at right-angles to the strip a when the device is in use, and on its upper side with slots d or with a clip d<2>, Fig. 4, for holding the pointer c parallel to the strip a when the device is not in use.
