Abstract

21,631. Placek, A. Sept. 23. Planes, arrangement and construction of; propelling.-The propeller or propellers 7 of a monoplane flying-machine are arranged in a transverse opening 2 in the main plane 1, so that the air current drawn in and discharged by the propeller is utilized for supporting the machine. The opening 2 occupies approximately the middle third of the plane. Steering.-The machine is steered vertically by an elevator 4 pivoted to the front edge of the plane 1 and by an elevator 5 pivoted to the rear of the tail plane 3. The end portions 6 of the plane are connected with flexible tips a so that when the part 6 is raised, the corresponding tip a is moved downwards.
