Respirators.-The regenerative cartridge of breathing-apparatus for use in irrespirable atmospheres, or under water, comprises a casing a with removable covers a<1>, a<2>, and wire-gauze trays b formed with ridges c so as to provide passages for the air and holders for the potash or soda. The trays may be arranged on a spindle d with the ridges of consecutive trays parallel or, as shown, at right-angles. Cartridges with two sets of trays, and trays with radial ridges may also be used.
