Detachable-rim attachments to wheels. - In attachments of the type in which wedge projections f, Fig. 1, fixed on or formed with the tyre-carrying band or rim e are engaged with similar projections c on the felloe ring b by relative circumferential movement, the wedges are provided with interengaging tongues c' and grooves f<1> respectively. Transversely adjustable wedges g are forced between the two sets of engaging wedges by bolts h, Fig. 3, which secure together two side plates i, i<1>, or by a screwthreaded sleeve j, Fig. 4, which has a bearing on this bolt. The bolts h are connected to the plate i by their T-heads engaging hollow bosses i<2> with slotted apertures on the plates. The wedges f may be separable from the rim, being connected thereto by projections m<1> and slots m, and to prevent them from leaving the wheel when loose, they are provided with dovetail slots k to engage similarly-formed projections k<1> on the wedges c, or the slots and projections f<1>, c<1> may be of dovetail shape. In a modification, instead of a large number of short wedges, a smaller number of long wedges c, f with a number of slots f<1> and projections c' may be used.
