Multiple-delivery piston pumps; indicators. -In a multi-feed lubricator of the type in which each pump plunger delivers alternately to a sight-feed device and to the part to be lubricated, a number of pump cylinders are arranged in a single plane and are controlled by a single rotary valve which makes one revolution for every four strokes of the pump plungers. Fig. 1 shows one of the pump elements in cross-section. The eccentric shaft 3, which operates all the pumps, is driven through gearing at twice the speed of the rotary valve 5, which also controls all the pumps by means of passages drilled therethrough. Upon the first up-stroke of the plunger 1, oil is drawn into the pump through the suction pipe 13 and passage 11. Upon the first delivery stroke, the oil is discharged through a slanting passage in the valve to the pipe 8 and sight-feed device 9, where it drops back into the oil-container. Upon the second up-stroke of the plunger, oil is again drawn through the passage 11 into the pump, and upon the second delivery stroke, the oil is discharged through a second slanting passage in the valve to the delivery pipe 10. The sightfeed device 9 may be dispensed with and each plunger caused to deliver oil to separate parts to be lubricated on alternate strokes. A strokevarying device 4 is provided for regulating the delivery of each plunger.
