Forecarriage turning-plates. -A ball or roller bearing, applicable as an under or fore carriage for a front - driven motor road vehicle, comprises a rotating horizontal plate mounted between two rings B, C, Fig. 4, with ball or roller bearings D, E, F on its two faces and edge to take horizontal or vertical thrusts. The balls &c. run in races formed on the plate and in the rings, which are secured together by bolts A', Fig. 3. The plate may be in two parts G<11> surrounded by a ring B' in which the races are formed, a slot G' being provided for the front wheel of the vehicle. The engine N, Fig. 6, change-speed box 0, clutch P, and the gearing for driving the wheel L, are mounted on the rotating plate G, and the rings B, C are fixed to the frame K of the vehicle. A steering- wheel l is provided with a drum m to receive a chain attached to the plate G at two points.
