Abstract

4725. Stevenson, A. C. Feb. 26. Detachable-rim attachments to wheels.-A rim B, of the kind used in the band type of tyre, to which the solid rubber tyre is directly vulcanized, is of enhanced strength and formed with a flange or series of lugs C inwardly projecting from any part of its width. The wheel member, without a rim, is formed with a peripheral flange F or a series of paws G with centring-means D for the flange or lugs C. The two sets of flanges &c. are secured together by bolts H. Fig. 2 shows an arrangement of twin tyres. The inner tvre can be removed from the outside of the wheel by forming notches in the flanges when these are used.
