Abstract

4377. Efrem, E., and Efrem, O. Nov. 26. Composition fuel.-Coal dust issuing from a dryer is mixed first with powdered asphalt while the temperature is below the melting- point of asphalt, say 90‹ C., and then after cooling to about 40-50‹ C. with a carbonaceous material such as naphthalene or paraffin, the mixture being briquetted at high pressure without further heating. From 3 to 20 per cent of asphalt may be used with from 2 to 12 per cent of naphthalene.
