Control Of The Air-Fuel Ratio Of Carburetors
(AREA)
Abstract
4343. Badcock, F. Feb. 21. Spray carburettors. -An attachment for a carburettor to provide a rich mixture for slow running comprises a four-way piece, the lower limb A being attached to the floatchamber. Air, preferably hot, enters at C, and mixture leaves at D to enter the induction pipe on the engine side of the throttle valve. The passage C is of larger area than the passage D. The area above the fuel-orifice B and the ratio of the passages C, D is varied by a screwed plug f. In a modification, the fuel-nozzle protrudes into a conical plug which replaces the screwed plug f.
