3183. Grinsell & Sons, J., and Grinsell, J. R. H. Feb. 8. Lids and covers.-A biscuit box, casket, &c., of glass, earthenware, metal, &c., is fitted at the upper edge of the body with a metal mountring b, to which the lid c is hinged at d. The mount b has an annular channelled portion b<1> cemented to the upper edge of the body, and a second channelled part f containing an indiarubber sealing-ring g, on to which the flange h of the lid is adapted to embed. In a modification, the edge h' of this flange is bent over at right-angles. The lid is secured in the closed position by a fastening e, e'.
