333. Davis, J. T. Jan. 4. Rotary - mould - table machines. - A briquetting-press comprises a wheel 5 formed with a rib 6 through which members 9, constituting the side walls of moulds 13, slide. The base of each mould is formed by the wheel 5, and the ends are formed by the solid portions of the rib 6 and by a portion 15 of the framework. Material is fed into the moulds at the upper portion of the wheel, and the moulds are then carried beneath a cover 16, after which the sides 9 are forced inwards by a cam 17 to compress the material. To prevent strain, the c a m is backed by adjustable springs 18. When the moulds reach their lowermost position, the walls 9 are completely withdrawn by means of a cam 21, Fig. 2, engaging recesses 22 therein, and the moulded briquettes drop off the wheel 5 into a receptacle. The wheel is driven by gearing 29, 7.
