Tread bands, projections, and surfaces. - Wheel tyres are provided with V-shaped ribs B of rectangular cross-section, which are wider than the spaces between them. The parts of the inside edges of the ribs between the points D and the apexes E lie on a cylindrical surface, and the outside edges lie within this surface, so that the surfaces of the ribs are inclined to the surface of the tyre. The points D of one rib preferably lie in the same cross-section as the apex of an adjacent rib. The ribs preferably merge into the tyre surface at the sides.
