Current motors; regulating.-A wind motor having a vertical axis is regulated by a windintercepting shield movable in one direction by a wind vane, and in the other direction by a governor-controlled weight. The motor 3 is mounted on a hollow shaft 2 running on ball bearings. A vane 35 under the influence of the wind tends to rotate a semicylindrical shield 1 so that it intercepts the wind, the opposite tendency being produced by a weight 18, which effects an opposing pull by means of a chain 13 guided by pulleys 15, 19, 22 carried by the main directing-vane 10. For starting the motor, a lever 33 is moved to the position 33', thereby releasing the stop 40 and weight 18. Should the speed become excessive, a governor 24 raises a sleeve 30 and links 31, 32, thereby lifting the weight 18 and allowing the vane 35 to move the shield into a covering position. The shaft 2 actuates a driving-pulley 45 through bevelgearing 38, 39.
