Picture and like frames.-Relates to picture frames and shadow boxes for the same, and especially to frames of the kind comprising four detachably connected metal sides. Corner-pieces of an ornamental character are used to aid in holding the sides together, provision being made to cover up the fastening-screw or other means also used, and flanges are formed integral with the side members to retain the picture in place. The frame comprises two pairs of metal sides 1, 2, Figs. 3 and 4, connected by means of slotted lugs 3 and tongues 4, and at each of the corners ornamental pieces 5 are provided having fingers 6, 7, 8 which engage the side members. A screw 9 passes through the side members 1, 2 at their juncture and engages a bridge 12, which forms part of the corner-piece 5 and passes across an opening 13 in it. The connexion between the screw and the bridge is hid from view by a cup 20, Fig. 5, held in the opening 13 by projections 21. The sides 1, 2 are bent so as to form a ridge 14, against which the picture rests, and a wall 16 having lugs 17 which hold the picture, glass, and backing 15 in place. Slits are formed in the wall 16 so as to, afford means for attaching a picture cord to the frame. The frame is surrounded by a shadow box or closure 22 which also comprises four sides connected by tongues and slots, a flange 25 setting in the grooved portion 14 of the frame. The sides of the shadow box are' bent over to form a groove 27 in which the glass 28 is mounted.
