Dampers for controlling superheaters. - A damper for regulating the passage of furnace gases through a superheater fitted in the downtake consists of a number of plates G inserted through apertures in the crown of the downtake and adapted to be completely withdrawn and used in connexion with any one of a group of boilers. The plates are supported upon the crown of the downtake by flanges J, or by pins inserted in holes L in the plates.
