Pressure-regulating valves.-A reducing-valve, of the type in which the inlet pressure acts upon a diaphragm, is provided with a removable cone p inserted in the inlet of the valve so as partly to reduce the pressure of the fluid before it reaches the valve proper d. The casing q of the valve is extended at q<1> to within a short distance of the valve seat and is provided with a flange t which serves to guide the spindle e. Apertures u in the part q<1> allow the fluid to have access to the diaphragm f. The casing of the valve is made in two parts q, r between which a washer s of woodite or other non- conductor of heat is placed so as to prevent conduction of heat to the diaphragm.
