Abstract

9324. Brierley, E. April 15. Thread-guides; snarl-catchers.-The shank of the wire guide d is secured by a pinching-screw e in a bored rib b<3> integrally formed on the underside of a plate-like malleable casting or metal stamping b, which is hinged to a bracket a formed with slots a<1> and bored ears a<2>. The plate preferably has rounded edges and is smooth on its upper face, and has a flange b<1> terminating in stops b<2> which limit the downward rotation of the plate. The rib b<3> preferably has an extension b<4> to take the pinching- screw e, the head of which may be masked. A pivoted notched plate f, or other type of snarlcatcher, may be provided, and the guide wire, which is of round, D, or other suitable section, may have a notched extension for the same purpose. According to the Provisional Specification, the pinching-screw may enter from the upper side of the plate.
