Wheels and other tools.-A buffing-roll, such as is used for buffing boots, is constructed with a wooden core A and an outer flexible abrasive cover C, between which is provided a coversupport B comprising a strip of leather encircling the core and having its exterior part slashed at an angle to produce a series of overlapping laminae or projections that yieldingly support the cover, when the roll is rotated, by expanding under the influence of centrifugal force.
