Abstract

4905. Mackenzie, C. M., and Mackenzie, E. Feb. 27. Lacing-fastenings.-The relatively inaccessible back parts of that class of exterior garments that fasten behind, are stiffened and laced together. The eyelets for the laces are arranged on the covers b for the stiffeners a, and one stiffener is attached to a tape e that is sown down along one edge to one side of the garment. The wearer tightens the garment by pulling on rings attached to the ends of the laces, and the tape e is then fastened down over the other side of the garment by fasteners f, g. Smaller rings k are fixed at some distance from the ends of the laces. The rings k, being too large to pass through the lacing eyelets, prevent the rings j from being pulled out of reach when the laces are slackened.
