Resistance to propulsion, reducing.-Relates to means for reducing the resistance to propulsion of navigable vessels of the kind in which rotatable cylinders c are laterally arranged on the sides. The invention consists in partly enclosing the cylinders in casings K, so that the water is able to act tangentially on one side only of the cylinders. The casings are rendered air-tight and water-tight by pneumatic tubes r, and are filled with air under pressure corresponding to the water pressure prevailing at the depth of immersion.
