Abstract
22,633. Elder, J. Oct. 5. Separators.-Relates to means for separating water from steam in pipes leading to steamwhistles and the like. The whistle b is mounted on a chamber a which is fitted internally with a pipe c forming a continuation of the steam pipe d. The upper end of the pipe c is bent over to discharge the water to the bottom of the chamber a, whence it is drained back to the boiler through a pipe e<1>. This pipe has a non- return valve e, which drops from its seat when the steam is turned off from the whistle.
