Abstract

Picture frames; pictures.-Relates to frames for show cards, pictures, &c. of the kind that are formed from one piece of material and can be laid flat for storing or packing The picture is printed or stuck on a sheet A of cardboard or other thin substance so as to leave a wide margin, on the back of which is formed by printing, painting, or veneering a design to represent the frame. The corners of the sheet are mitred and the sides are scored and folded over along three lines 1, 2, 3, as shown in Fig. 2, to give a solid appearance. The part D of the margin is secured to the sheet by means of a cord passed through eyelet-holes, the cord also serving to suspend the picture. Instead of a cord, paper-fasteners or tongues and slots may be used.
