Abstract

Belt - fastenings.-A belt-fastener is made in pivoted halves, held together by a screw through the belt and gripping the belt on opposite sides at points not opposite one another. Fig. 6 shows the halves of one fastener, 1, 2, and a link 10 for joining the two fasteners ; Fig. 1 shows the fastening in use with a belt grooved on the underside, in which case a flange 8 is used on the lower half of the fastening. The closed end 11 of the link 10 is threaded on the pin 4 forming the pivot before the fastener is put together ; the other end of the link may be booked on subsequently.
