12,486. Lalor, N. P. O'G. May 27. Tourniquets.-A tourniquet, for applying pressure to an artery witho u t constricting the limb as a whole, comprises a plate A, through which passes a screwed spindle E carrying loosely a plate H and a. pad. f<2>. Two levers B, B' are pivoted to the plate A and have curved arms D, D' engaging the plate H, so that, when the screw is turned to depress the pad and the plate H, the arms B, B', to which is attached a band &c. b<2> embracing the limb, are raised upwards and outwards.
