Finger gauges.-A finger and ring gauge consists of a flexible strip C, one end of which is attached to an arm A bearing a scale B, and the other to a movable arm A' provided with a pawl to engage the scale. In using the gauge to measure the size of ring required, the finger is inserted within the strip C and the required size is read off on the scale B. In measuring rings, the ring is placed over teeth or projections a<6> upon the strip, and the arm A' moved outwards ; the size is given by the pointer a<7>.
