Wood fuel.-A composition for coating wood fire-lighters is made by adding cork dust or peat dust, or both, preferably with sawdust, to a molten mixture of pitch, or gas-tar, or both, creosote or creosote oil, and resin. The composition froths up, and is used for coating in this expanded condition. Equal parts of pitch or tar and creosote are used, with as much resin as the two together, and enough dust to form a composition of the consistency of thin treacle when cold. The wood fire-lighters coated with such composition preferably consist of four sticks A embracing shavings B and bound with wire C.
