Abstract

27,606. Raymond, J. R. Aug. 21, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Boat - detaching gear.-Relates to the type of boat-detaching gear described in Specification No. 23,828, A.D. 1903. The tripping-hook 2, having a curved lip 3 and a weighted end 4, is pivoted to the hook 1 attached to the boatfalls; and is operated by the lanyard 10, which passes through the hook 2 some distance back from the weighted. end and serves to guide the shackle 12 into place on the curved lip 3. To avoid accidental detachment, the shackle 12 attached to the boat is constructed with a contracted portion 13, which fits over the curved lip 3 when in place against the hook 1. The hook 1 is provided with a projecting part 17 to keep the shackle 12 in place.
