Abstract
12,354. Turner, F., and Hands, G., [trading as Hands & Co., G.]. May 28. Incandescent gas lamps. -In an anti-vibration burner in which the mixing-tube consists of a lower Bunsen part a, Fig. 1, and an upper suspended part j, an asbestos or equivalent packing-ring f on the part a fits in a bell-mouthed enlargement e at the lower end of the upper part, and is either adjustably secured on the Bunsen part a, or the part a is adjustably connected to the gas pipe b, preferably by a screw junction and a lock-nut d, or by a set-screw. The asbestos ring f may be secured between a nut o, Fig. 5, and a fixed or adjustable flange z on the part a. The upper part j, Fig. 1, is suspended by a bridle h and a chain t, or other flexible non-resilient support, and may be provided with one or more upright or inverted burner mouths y, Fig. 5, provided, in some cases, with separate regulating-devices.
