Abstract

23,250. Thornton, R. Oct. 19. Carburetting -An apparatus for carburetting air for lighting, heating, &c. consists of a vessel a, closed by a lid b and having a partition c dividing it into two portions. The partition c is perforated near the bottom, and hydrocarbon is fed to the inner part from a reservoir through the needle valve e. The valve e is controlled by a float g which is guided by the perforated partition h. An air-inlet tube and a gas exit k are shown. The air inlet may be connected to the centre chamber, and the gas exit to the outer chamber.
