Abstract

8173. Bines, R. April 4. Telephone systems.-Relates to arrangements of telephone apparatus for preventing the disturbing effects due to induction. The microphone A, Fig. 2, is in circuit with the primary winding on the core N, the secondary O of which is connected to the line-wires F. The receiver B is in circuit with a winding 0<1> on a separate core P, the pole-pieces of which may be insulated from the core N by air-gaps P<1>. In the modified system shown in Fig. 1, the microphone is connected to two primaries D<1>, E<1> wound in multiple on the cores D, E. The secondaries D<2>, E' are connected in series with the line-wires F. The receiver B is in series with the winding on the third core G. The pole-pieces H, I, J are separated by pieces of magnetic insulating material L. The cores D, E are so wound that the pole-pieces at the same ends are of like polarity.
