Abstract
7 5 7 4. Hadden & Co., J. & H., and Buxton, W. March 29. Pile, dressing.- Stockinet and woven fabrics having a raised or cut pile are dressed so that the pile has longitudinal wavy furrows which give an ornamental effect, as shown in Fig. 4. The fabric H, Fig. 1, is passed between a fixed bed B and a sliding bed A which is moved transversely with a jerky motion by means of crank-pins D engaging with shaped sockets C<1>, Fig. 3. Studs E prevent motion of the bed A in the direction of the length of the fabric. The rubbing-surface of the bed A is formed of hard rubber with a roughened or granulated surface.
