Abstract

7373. Bertheau, H. A. March 30, 1905, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Gas or explosive-vapour engines.-The air and oil are drawn into the cylinder through the same valve a, but the oil is diverted by a baffle k into the vaporizer f, while the air follows the piston e. On the compression stroke, the air is forced around the baffle into the chamber f, but does not thoroughly mix with the vapour until the end of the stroke, when the mixture enters the igniter g through the port h. By this device, premature ignition is avoided.
