Parcelling; paper and like bags; sacks and like bags.-Measured quantities of coffee are contained in pervious closed bags wrapped in airtight coverings and packed in boxes made up to definite weights of coffee, the bags being placed directly into water when an infusion is to be made. Fig. 1 shows a box 2 containing a number of the packages 1, which consist each of a closed bag 3 Fig. 2, doubled-up so as to go within a pasteboard or like box 4, over which is tin foil 5 or other airtight material, bearing a label 6 to indicate the contents and directions for use. Some of these wrappings may be dispensed with, provided the bag is protected from the air and bears printed directions. In use, the bag is spread upon removal from the box 4, in order to give a greater surface of coffee for the water to act upon. In a modified form of bag, there are two receptacles 8, 9, Fig. 5, which may or may not be of equal size, and are separated by two lines of stitching 10, 11 so that they may be cut apart without releasing the contents.
