Abstract
18,713. Noble, P. W. Aug. 30. Motor road vehicles.-The engine, driving-gear, and other accessories of motor road vehicles are fitted by machining them to a standard bed-plate in the workshop before mounting them on the car. Each car carries a similar standard bed-plate, so that the parts when assembled on the car are at once in correct alignment with one another. Fig. 1 shows a form of bed-plate, T-shaped in cross-section, which may be attached to the vehicle frame by any known means and carries the motor and gear box on the portions A, C respectively. The part B is depressed to provide clearance for the flywheel ; also lugs such as D may be provided to carry the silencer, carburetter, and ignition apparatus.
