Filing papers.-The papers in a temporary binder, loose-leaf ledger, &c. are clamped between two plates a, b at the back of which are casings r, r<1>. Between the two plates a, b pass telescopic tubes j, k with swelled ends w bearing behind the plates a, b, and provided with projections, which engage with the blocks s and prevent the tubes from turning. The plates are drawn together by screws m and nuts n, fixed in some or all of the tubes k, j and actuated from a spindle p by worms and worm-wheels o. The casings and plates are secured by screws 2, and side and back flanges d, g may be provided. Those tubes k which are not provided with screws may telescope into the tubes j.
