12,406. Sgherlino, G. May 30. Clock and watch cases; dials; going-trains; motionwork. -The case and dial are sectorshaped, and the hands jump back to the left again to begin a new hour or day. The minute-hand D<2> is driven from the second arbor of an ordinary train B, M, through a train composed of a mutilated wheel a, a toothed sector A, an incomplete wheel d, and an equal wheel D. When the sector has reached the extreme lefthand position and consequently the band the extreme right-hand position, the gap in the driver d allows them to be thrown back by a spring r acting on the sector. A projection on the sector then comes against an odd tooth F which is in the middle of the gap but is not in the plane of the sector. Another rotation of the sector to the left is accordingly recommenced by this odd tooth, and is continued by the ordinary teeth. The hour-hand j<1> turns with a sector j, which is driven from the same arbor as the minute-hand by the reducing- gear consisting of a pinion h, wheel H, and small wheel i. The small wheel is mutilated to let the sector escape to the left under the action of a coiled spring R, but has a side tooth G to bring it into gear again, as in the case of the minute-hand.
