Abstract
28,957. Wojciechowski, J. Dec 31. Tobacco.-Relates to mechanism for loosening tobacco after leaving the cutting-machine. Fig. 1 shows an end view, and Fig. 2 a longitudinal view. Tobacco fed into the hopper a, provided with inclined and curved sides 19, falls between the interacting rakes b, c, which are carried on oscillating shafts d, e connected by links g, h, i and driven from the rotating disc l by the rod k and arm j. The fingers y, z are carried on bars, which are connected to the bracket 13 and pivoted arm 10 at one end of the machine, and to the arms 8, 9 at the other end, and are oscillated longitudinally in opposite directions by the rockshaft 12 actuated from the shaft e by the arms 14, 16 connected by the spring 18 and the spindle 17, as shown in Fig. 5. When dry tobacco is treated, the hooked fingers y, z may be replaced by straight ones.
