Abstract

Aerated beverages; beer, de-alcoholizing.-Non- alcoholic beer is obtained by heating fermented beer to a temperature of from 40‹ to 60‹ C. in a vacuum pan a until the alcohol in it has been expelled. The vacuum pan has a double bottom b, c, to which steam is supplied and the vessel is connected with a vacuum pump, not shown. The beer is run in until it covers the bottom in a comparatively thin layer d and is circulated by a pump h, which withdraws it from the vessel and returns it again through an annular rose k, frnm which it flows over a corrugated metal sheet l on to the bottom of the vessel. The sheet l may be perforated so that the beer in part drops through these perforations. It is aÙrated in any known manner.
