1998. W³st, W. Jan. 29. Stoppers.-Relates to the stoppering of bottles containing aÙrated liquids, beer, &c. The neck of the bottle is formed with an annular cylindrical or conical recess n, in which is placed a plain cork ring r of corresponding form. The closure is effected by means of a conical screw stopper s, which is screwed into the ring r and forms a tight joint tberewith. The stopper may be formed with a head such as is shown in Fig. 4, or such as is shown in plan in Fig. 6, to facilitate its insertion and removal by hand or by a suitable tool.
