Moulding b u i l d i n gblocks &c.-Relates to moulds, pressing-plates, and ejecting-rings for moulding hollow or solid building-blocks after the manner described in Specification No. 25,214, A.D. 1899, and to rolling and stamping apparatus for producing solid blocks. A loose lining or anti-suction plate c, cut and stamped to the required shape from sheet metal, rests on and fits within an ejector ring b, and a similar plate may be connected to the upper plunger by sliding guide pins. Grooves are provided between the plate and ring to allow air or liquid to escape. The plate, with the moulded block, is removed by bars or tools inserted in grooves in the ends of the ring. Recesses may be made in the blocks for the reception of angle or T-bars by means of points or cores g, and the ends of the mould may be formed with ribs and grooves to produce blocks with interlocking grooves and ribs. Fig. 6 shows a pressing-roller r, which is fixed to a flexible rotary shaft q, and is manipulated by handles s, s<1> mounted loosely on the shaft. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 8, the material is rammed down in the mould a by stampers t, carried by a sliding frame t<1> reciprocated by cams on a flexible shaft q. A frame t<2>, carrying the apparatus, is supported on wheels v which run in grooved rails v<1>. In another arrangement, a number of plungers are supported in a sliding frame adjustable vertically by levers, and are operated by springs and a cam shaft driven by an endless belt.
