Abstract
4103. Willis, P. R. J., [Wade, A. H.]. March 3. Methods of fastening.-The stud members of corset and similar fastenings are arranged so as to project from either side. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the fastening is formed with an elliptical shank 1 adapted to slide in hole in the corset busk and formed at each end with a head 2 and a circular slot 3. The fastening can be secured with either head at the busk, by pressing that head until the bush is engaged by the slot 3 and then rotating it. In a modification shown in Fig. 4, the shank is circular, and is formed with a slot 18 adapted to engage a projection 9, Fig. 5, formed on the aperture in the busk. The heads 2 may be formed after the shank is inserted in the busk, or the busk may have slots 10, Fig. 5, to enable the heads to be sprung into position. In another form, shown in Fig. 6, the shank screws into a nut 11 secured to the busk. According to the Provisional Specification, one of the busks is slotted transversely at intervals, the tongues so formed being folded to form double hooks which project from both sides of the busk, but, when engaged on either side with the other busk, are sprung flat on the opposite side.
