Abstract

12,859. Goerz, C. P., and Hoegh, E. von. June 8. Lenses.-Relates to a twolens system for photographic and like purposes. It consists essentially of a simple or composite biconcave lens L', Fig. 1, of low refracting power, and a simple or composite biconvex lens L<2> of high refracting power, these lenses being separated by a layer of air. Of the surfaces of the two lenses facing one another, that belonging to the biconcave lens has the greater curvature. The figures marked on the glass denote the refractive indices. These lenses are spherically, chromatically, and astigmatically corrected. A double objective may be formed by combining together a pair of the single systems.
