Abstract
10,127. Grotenhuis, W. J., and Sidway, H. T. May 3. Pedals.-Relates to toe-clips and to combined pedals and toe-clips for bicycles, tricycles, &c. The Figures show a toe-clip which consists of a baseplate A with a lug portion, bent at right-angles to the plate, by which it may be secured to the pedal D. Projections are formed on the front of the plate to act as stops for the foot, and a leather or other suitable cover F, which is riveted at the ends to the plate and is secured by lacing, is used to retain the foot. The cover F is provided with elastic metal strips G to give rigidity thereto. The combined toe-clip and pedal consists of a plate which carries a sleeve mounted upon the pedal pin. This plate is provided with projections and serrations and a flexible cover to retain the foot in position.
