Vapour burners, atmospheric.-Spirit is supplied by a pipe 1 containing an asbestos &c. plug 15 to a vaporizing - chamber 2, which is provided with internal baffles &c. to increase the heating-surface. The vapour enters the tube 4, and, passing the regulating-valve 7, enters the tube 8 and issues at the opening 9. The vapour mixes with air entering at 16, and the mixture burns at a double ring of openings 12 in the upper part of the distributer 11. In starting the burner, spirit is allowed to flow through the apparatus to the tray 14, in which it is ignited.
